The Wellington region’s new resilient business campus

Blue Mountains Campus is a green, resilient business campus designed to meet the Wellington region’s growing demand for flexible, resilient commercial space outside the CBD. Located in Upper Hutt, within an established park-like site, it offers a master-planned blend of refurbished and new buildings. Suitable for both private and public sector organisations, the campus has been selected as the government’s first strategic regional hub with both KiwiRail and MBIE as anchor tenants.

Stage 1 is complete with KiwiRail and MBIE both settled into their new spaces in the refurbished, 5 Green Star Buddle Building. KiwiRail’s adjoining state-of-the-art National Train Control Centre is also operational.

Space for a wide range of businesses

The campus can accommodate a wide range of uses including office and project space, technology hubs, data centres, light industry such as brewery space, specialist tech spaces (e.g. clean/deep/bio-tech), and disaster recovery facilities. Options include:

These are ready to occupy now and our all-inclusive leasing packages provide access to the social kitchen, fast wifi, bookable meeting rooms, break-out areas, gym and end-of-trip facilities. Blue Mountains Campus is situated in one of the most resilient commercial locations in the region.

The site’s established park-like setting with mature elms, oaks, and totaras provides a natural environment that is impossible to achieve in the CBD.

Sustainable

The campus is designed to be best-in-class for sustainable operation and energy efficiency. The Buddle Building has been awarded 5 Green Star design certification. The planned new buildings are also targeting minimum 5 Green Star and 5 Star NABERSNZ ratings. The campus is able to host a range of other sustainability features, depending on tenant needs.

Connected to transport, businesses and innovation

The campus also benefits from being located a two-minute walk from Wallaceville train station, is on bus and cycle routes, and is near existing facilities for IRD, the New Zealand Defence Force, ASB, the Ministry of Social Development, as well as Upper Hutt city centre, Brewtown, Lane Street Studios and the new New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport.
